R4 Community Involvement

Family is extremely important to R4. This extends beyond our R4 family and personal family members to our community. The R4 team works closely with the following organizations to support their efforts as they enrich, inspire and empower.


The Inner-City Teaching Corps

The Inner-City Teaching Corps recruits, supports, and develops dedicated, inspired education leaders to serve in inner-city classrooms and school settings. Alumni of our programs can be found in classes across the country, heading schools, and working in education policy. The UNITE program, which develops transitioning professionals into classroom leaders, attorneys, public relations specialists, and a professional actor among its midst.


After School Matters

Real world. Right now. After School Matters, a City of Chicago initiative, offers teens hands-on job training in the arts, sports, technology, and communications.


El Valor

El Valor challenges urban families to achieve excellence and participate fully in community life. Programs exist to enrich and empower people with disabilities, the disenfranchised and the underserved.


Children at the Crossroads

The Children at the Crossroads Foundation was established in 1990 under the belief that economic circumstances should not preclude an eager and capable child from receiving a quality education. The Foundation supports the needs of financially disadvantaged children who would not otherwise be able to participate in the prototype educational program at the Francis Xavier Warde Schools.


Field Museum

The Field Museum in Chicago is a resource of collections, public learning and research. The museum was founded to house the biological and anthropological collections assembled for the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. These objects form the core of the Museum's collections which have grown through world-wide expeditions, exchange, purchase, and gifts to more than twenty million specimens. The collections provide the foundation of the Museum's exhibition, research and education programs. Since its founding the Field Museum has been an international leader in evolutionary biology and paleontology, and archaeology and ethnography.


Boys and Girls Club of Chicago

Boys & Girls Clubs provide hope, stability and opportunity for youth in Chicago. They make a difference in children’s lives with a safe place that they can call their own. The Boys and Girls Club is a caring, positive place where our city’s professionals serve as role models and positively influence our youth’s lives. Children have the freedom to be kids and have fun while learning new skills, cultivating talents, enhancing their character and education, and learning how to live healthy and honorable lives.
